What is your experience?

I began as an apprentice in 2010. Completing this apprenticeship in 2012. I then went on to work for a number of different painting and decorating firms until 2019, when Baxter's decorating service was formed. Throughout all of this time I have worked on a large number of different projects. See the about page for more details.

Can you give me a quote without a physical viewing?

During this pandemic it is likely you will want a virtual quote. With photographs, videos and descriptions I can give a rough estimate but physically inspection is needed to discuss requirements and for a final price.

What colour/wallpaper would look good in my room?

We can use upto date photoshop programmes to show you how your room will look with different colours or styles. This is a great help if you are trying to decide between a few options or are having trouble picking the right colour to go with the style of your room.

How soon can you do it?

The answer varies depending on demand. Usually we are booked a few weeks in advance so we recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Sometimes cancellations happen and we may be able to offer you a quicker slot.

Who provides the paint/materials?

Either I can provide the paint which can be invoiced at the end of the job or you can provide your own. However, if you provide your own paint the finish may not be guaranteed. Included in the labour price is any filler, sandpaper, wallpaper paste and any other consumables under this umbrella. If requested, estimates for materials can be provided in the quote.

Are there any hidden costs?

All quotes given are estimates. They are usually very close to the final price and we will discuss any extra costs that occur before they are added.

What payment methods do you accept?

We try to accept the payment method most convenient for our client. Unfortunatley we are unable to accept cheques at the moment but we are able to recieve debit/credit card payments, bank transfers and cash.

Are you insured?

We carry full public liability insurance. Proof can be provided on meeting.

When do we pay?

Usually at the end of the job when you are happy with the work. However, if the quote is over £1000 a 10% deposit is required.

Do you clean up?

We always treat your home in a way we would want someone to treat our own home. We clean up after ourselves as we go and never leave a home without making sure we have cleaned any mess we have created.
